Polaroid Camera Testing - with the talented model Madame Bink
Since I was young I've always wanted to shoot Polaroids, infact I think for a short while in my youth I did, but being mainly digital the past few years I've become stuck with what I have. I spoke to a few photographers at the end of 2009 and thought that in 2010 I should buy some film cameras to practice my technique in different formats. So I've decided to finally get off my arse and do some polaroid projects, and I'm sure Binky and I will go shopping at the Lomography shop before we head off on our travels later this year.
So far this year I've purchased a Polaroid 636 Close up, and a Polaroid Land Camera 103 of which both take different film types. (pictured is a 101 as I'm too lazy to find a nice photo of the 103) I'm still waiting for the 103 and a new battery for it to arrive, but whilst I'm waiting I managed to road test the 636 with Madame Bink.
I'm not quite sure where I want to take my Polaroid project, all I know is that it will be spontanious and raw/candid. These shots were unplanned and just using my bedroom and a bunny mask we had to hand. I'm sure over the coming months you'll see more and more Polaroids being posted by me, if they're lucky they may even get their own special section on my website.
I'm sure with more practise and experimentation I'll get better with the cameras and with the scanning and processing to my computer. I'm really please with my first film, only the one of the two of us came out blurry!
