Inspiration of the Month: "Marc Van Dalen and Carlos Nunez" a double inspiration special...

What better way to start 2011 than with some browsing around for inspirational images, it was thanks to a model sending me a link that I stumbled upon some works by Marc Van Dalen and Carlos Nunez. These images are just the sort that have been floating around my mind for a while, and are definitely a style that I'm looking to shoot more of in 2011.

Both photographers have great fashion nude shots. To me fashion and nudity go together like fish and chips, for whatever reason it's just meant to be. There's something about mixed nude/fashion editorials that tick so many boxes for me; I think my dream publication would be shooting an editorial for a magazine like S Mag.

Happy New Year ... '2011 to do list'

Happy new year everyone, here's wishing you all the best for 2011.

So this time last year I made a blog about all the resolutions I wanted to put to my business for 2010 (and some personal ones too). You can see that blog by 'clicking here'. I think I can safely say that I completed a good 90% of those, which is probably more than I thought I would back then.

So what do I want to do this coming year? Where do I want to take my photography and my other future businesses? God knows why we suddenly throw pressure onto ourselves to do such things, maybe it's to inspire, maybe it's to try and give a big motivational kick start to the year? Either way here's a my '2011 to do list'

So my resolutions for 2011 are:

1. Work with some great fashion models and some new/interesting faces.

2. Create, Shoot and have Published a few editorials.

3. Plan, Arrange and Complete 4 Binkertson shoots.

4. Finalise my new business plan & complete the financial side.

5. Go on another dream holiday / go travelling with Binky.

6. Shoot more male fashion models

7. Work alongside some competent photographers for creative fun/network building.

8. Launch a new version of my website with easier navigation & more content.

9. Share some shoots with my inspirational girlfriend Binkography.

10. Create a good working base with more Agencies.

11. Complete more work based travel.

12. Carry on blogging with more behind the scenes and 'how to' posts.

13. Complete a cover shoot for a new client.

14. Book more international models when they're travelling through the UK.

15. Continue to expand my list of publications and clients
16. Continue to do more private tuition
17. Do more Team Binkertson workshops around the world.

"One night in Hong Kong" with Madame Bink

Hong Kong - Team Binkertson night time fashion shoot.

Feeling rather tired from all of the flights we'd been on during our travels, getting to Hong Kong felt like a good chance to relax and pamper ourselves. After some much needed rest & relaxation we decided to head out and do some night time street fashion.

With there being so many lights at first I thought it would be easy to get a lot of cool background Bokeh, but once down on the streets, it was apparent that the lights were all a lot higher than I'd thought, so I needed to change my tactics a little to get the shots I wanted.

It's funny shooting on such busy streets, some people walk past and stare in some form of anger/annoyance, some people walk past oblivious and some people just watch out of curiosity. It's good being able to catch a moment of calm on such a busy street, so capturing some form of movement around Madame Bink was something that I wanted to get.

 

It's almost Christmas and I'm so excited, I just really hope that this weather changes and that Binky and I get to where we want to go.
