A cloudy day fashion shoot with Madame Bink at Mission Beach, Australia. A Team Binkertson project.

When we first arrived at Mission Beach, the weather was looking rather bleak, with lots of monsoon rain and dark clouds. It looked like finding the time to shoot would be really hit and miss. It was a rather cloudy day when Bink and I decided to take a stroll along the beach to shoot some fashion shots, with the sun peeking through the clouds every few minutes and causing harsh sunlight it wasn't the best conditions to shoot in.

We soon found a nice shaded area with lots of interesting colours, and decided to use this as the base point for the shoot. Bink was dressed in an ethnic green dress bought from a local shop that was full of interesting clothing. We decided the dress would suit all of the surroundings on the beach and that it would create some striking tonal ranges with the sand, the trees and leaves.

I love how Bink's long cascading hair swirls freely in the breeze and creates some elegant movement in the photos. There’s such a relaxed, candid feel to the photos it’s almost as if you can feel the soft sea breeze hitting your face, creating that moment of bliss you get the first time you walk on a new beach. I really enjoy working in new countries; there are always so many new textures and environments to explore.

Another sunrise shoot with Keira Grant

As promised here's some more of Keira. It was yet another 5am start and another sunrise shoot with Keira Grant. This time we'd decided to head down Mission Beach to Clump Point to play around with all the rocks there.

It was so inspiring being able to explore such a wide variation of shoot locations in such a small area, you had full on white sandy beaches, palm trees and greenery, sharp rocks, smooth rocks, fallen trees and so much more.The tree which seemed to wrap around and be growing out of the rock really caught my attention.

Being at Zoefest was so much more inspiring than I ever thought it could be. Watching the nightly slide-shows over the week really gave me some inspiration. It's weird shooting a genre in which you feel that you have no signature style, I think it leads to images being very different from what you do shoot yet somehow still appearing to be an image that can be easily noticed as yours.

24 Hours in Singapore - Temples Temples Temples...

After a long day travelling from Wiltshire to London, we finally boarded our evening flight from London to Frankfurt, where we'd then have to wait a few hours for our flight to Singapore. Dazed and Confused we land in Singapore and grab a taxi straight to the hotel we'd booked online, aptly named The Robertson Quay Hotel.

We dump our bags to grab showers and a change of clothes and head straight out to find some food and drinks, it has been a super long journey so far. The first thing I noticed about Singapore was the humidity, it was a cloudy evening but the air was so thick and wet that it made your chest feel slightly tight. After a walk around the river we chose a restaurant and sat down to eat and relax after the never ending chain of planes, trains and taxis.

We awoke around 8am and had till around 6pm till we had to make our way back to the airport to fly to Darwin, Australia. Singapore is a striking country, it amazed me how different it can be just from taking a stroll down a road, the architecture, the people, the cleanliness it all changes street by street. We'd decided to see as many temples as we could, so map in hand we headed off to see what we could find on our wander, which actually worked out really well. (Even if we did walk all day...thanks Madame Bink)

I really enjoyed my brief time in Singapore, and I know there's a lot more to the country than first meets the eye. The vast array of foods, culture and colours are a big draw. I'd definitely revisit the country for a longer trip to see what else it has to offer.
